Your computer is loaded with various pieces of hardware ranging from the motherboard to pointing devices. Each of piece of hardware, whether it’s a display adapter or a keyboard, needs a device driver in order to function properly. Not only does it need a device driver, it needs a specific device driver. While some universal device drivers and generic drivers will do in a pinch, it’s best to have the manufacturer’s specific device driver that goes with the exact model of the device. Even then, it’s not always enough. Manufacturers regularly update device drivers, making it sensible to update your drivers periodically for best results.
So where do you find the right drivers and how do you install them? Start with the manufacturer’s website.
